Welcome to the e-portfolio for Leona Hillsgrove. Throughout my extensive nursing career I worked in the hospital setting in many different specialties including telemetry, CCU/ICU, pediatrics, GI Lab, float nurse, and post-partum night shift charge nurse, as well as for the Brevard County Health Department on the COVID-19 team. I currently serve as the Nursing Lab Coordinator at Eastern Florida State College where I am always challenged with researching new educational and organizational ideas for the nursing labs to assist the instructors and students. I recently met an educational goal by completing my BSN through Eastern Florida State College. These pages showcase some of the highlights of my educational journey through examples of my scholarly written work and PowerPoint presentations. The last page contains some examples of my personal creative writing.

Work Philosophy: I have always tried to treat my patients the way I would like to be treated and to do my best to give them the best care possible. I have a great interest in educating people to prevent disease.
